'Old School Site'

The Parish Council registered the old Countess Gytha school building as an 'Asset of Community Value' with South Somerset District Council, to give the village 6 months to come up with ideas of how the site could be used in the future and prevent Somerset County Council selling the site in the mean time.

The PC endorsed the CLT's decision to prepare a feasibility study of possible future uses and to develop a costed business plan that was be put the the village.

The feasibility study was developed with the assistance of 'Wessex Community Assets', a CLT that assists like minded groups of individual form a 'Community Interest Company' and gets projects off the ground.
